docs says that the old-type dvd support (.vob file playing using libcss)
won't work. afaik, it works if you select libdvdread 9and of course you have
it installed, including -dev stuff, and mplayers' ./configure finds that)

try with libdvdread, if you got compile errors tell us.
(maybe you have to give path to ./configure if it isn't standard include
path)
