Err, I didn't notice that bit.  I changed it in config.mak manually,
and didn't think about why I had to do it.  This explains why noone
noticed that 3dnow! support failed ;-)

IMO, configure should _not_ check this.  I want to run the same binary
on many different CPU's.

Somehow, a "make clean" seems to have made a difference.  It now
works, it uses SSE.  Sorry about the false alarm.
