[Mplayer-users] Minimum hardware

Hi I have a plan to build a dedicated multimedia plyer and I have just
started playing around with mplayer and it seems to fit my needs.

I have trouble playing divx films on my setup and before going through
it all I thought I'd ask the list for some help and pointer.

My set up includes a PII 450 and a voodoo3 card I have previously
used the same CPU but with a G400 card with Win98. On my Win98 
system I had no problems playing the divx'es but on my new Linux
setup I have framedrops to point that it impossible to watch.
Right now I'm using SDL to display. So my questions are basically.
Is a PII 450 fast enough?
Is the voodoo3 a good enough card?
Is SDL the best choice on the voodoo3?
Is the G400 better?
