it's at boundary... but should be ok if you have good vga card.

yes.

> Is SDL the best choice on the voodoo3?
no! install latest Xfree 4.x (from CVS, release versions has broken tdfx
drivers) and use -vo xv.

> Is the G400 better?
much better. mplayer has special driver for g400 cards.
