Why not adding it to section 5.4 of the FAQ, just after telling how to
make it suid root ?

PS: why not "chown root:movies /path/to/mplayer" as the first step, then
adding the users that root wants to be able to play movies to the group
"movies" ? This should at least reduce security risk... The actual FAQ
doesen't tell to change group, that is quite risky...
