[MPlayer-users] XviD support fading out?

HI there,

Not too sure if I missed something somewhere, but it seems to be that 
mencoder does not seem to be supporting the xvidcore properly anymore. It 
goes back to the pervious posting of mine, where re-encoding a Divx3 or 4 
file does not seem to work. Well, not it does work... at least it does it, 
but I get a green screen.

Encoding to libavicodec works great on the other hand. Is this intentional? 
I mean, is mencoder migrating to supporting libavcodec instead of the 
xvidcore? Could someone also please tell me what the difference is between 
the two in terms of encoding DivX, and maybe the development status of the 
two? It looks to me, in terms of encoding DivX4 that they seem to be on a 
parrallel, is that so?

The reason I ask is that when I build the CVS versions of MPlayer I add 
support for xvid, however if this is fading out, I may as well dump it and 
focus on libavicodec.

Any ideas would be welcome,
