...hey, Arpi. no offense, man. i can understand you ( however
that doesn't mean that i think the same way. i'm more inclined
to believe that your social skills may need a bit more polishing,
and a bit of understanding of the regular user's mind -i.e. a person
that doesn't even know what 'gdb' is or does - wouldn't hurt you) 

but my question is: if you admittedly --> "that i HATE users who don't
RTFM and don't......" 

then why, of all the developers of MPlayer, are YOU the one
that has to help the users? 

i mean, there's no fighting it. no matter how much you hate it.
a regular user does not know what gdb is or does, does not
want to compile/recompile a program several times just because it
doesn't work ( who probably paste the "./configure make make install"
from a text without even understanding what they do ) 

Linux is growing, just like every Linux user wants it to grow
( ok maybe not as fast ) but 'new users' means that: USERS. not
developers. it means people with near-zero knowledge about
sourcecode, compilation, debugging or anything! 

i completely understand you unwillingness to teach every poor ass
that asks in this list, but then, if this kind of stuff is
inevitable, you are NOT getting paid, and you HATE it, why
do you waste your time flaming? is there no other developers
that can do this on MPlayer?
