Piece of shit......could this be why i am having no luck...I am using 
the coax jack out from my live drive to my receiver...does the hwac3 
make use of the livedrive....livedrive == :

  SPDIF IN/OUT
  OPTICAL IN/OUT
  Headphone
  Mic
  Aux in (RCA)
  MIDI IN/OUT (svideo)

I hope some of this information helps.  lspci says my card is:
