but where is mplayer -v ... output?

and the last q: are you uing the GUI?
maybe it's a gui bug not mplayer bug...
and as no one of teh core developers use gui we can't see this.

at least i can play dvd and 2 hour long divx avis on my notebook with 192mb
ram and 0 byte swap without any problem or big memory usage
