[MPlayer-users] an idea

Hi!

As we know mplayer can play mpeg files starting with bogus data.
That's great feature that allows us to watch bin (of bin/cua) files or iso
images of VCD directly (without mounting nor burning).

In the same way mplayer is able to play uncompressed rar files used to
split huge files while uploading to ftp. It just skips the rar header and
plays mpeg, but it would be REALLY great if it could just walk through all
rar files (i mean rar, then r00, r01 and so on) so we could watch the
mpeg movie without unpacking it! I know it will work only for
[S]VCD/mpeg files but anyway we could watch the movie without extracting
it from the rars. (people uses rar/zip whatever to split movies to parts
as without compression as it won't work for well compressed movies).

It would save space specialy if we have only 1G free and has just
downloaded there over 650M of movie and there is no chance to unpack it...

What do you think? Would it be possible to implemet?
If so, what about subtitles?
