[MPlayer-users] subfont.ttf for all users

Feature suggestion:
According to the documentation, there are two ways to specify the
location of a TrueType font file:
- using -font /path/to/arial.ttf
- creating a symlink from arial.ttf to ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf
Neither of these methods works system-wide (i mean for all users without
making changes for each user).

In order to make this work system-wide, is it possible to make mplayer
search for subfont.ttf first in one of the global directories first,
like for example the ones specified by the --confdir or --datadir
./configure options?

This way, a TrueType font could be installed once for all users. No need
for symlinking to each home directory, or to force all users to use some
command-line switch.
