Well, actually the problem is not only M$ itself. Its more or less the whole
media industry including M$ but also the Music Industry and so on.

And yes, they might walk into your house as far as I know. At least they did
so with the first guy releasing the first DeCSS code. They don't do that
alone for themselves but they ask the responsible department of your police.
You see, I don't expect them to do that but anyway they can cause you alot
of trouble if they feel to.

Not really. They aren't the police, true, but sometimes they have good friends there
or at another useful department of your/our state/states. 
But you are right, they aren't gods. But it doesn't take a god to maybe destroy your
entire life. It just takes an as... err I mean the wrong person. 
I know a nice story of a asshole wanting to be the boss, but I think its redundant to
post it to the whole list. If you want me to post it or send it to you personally
drop me a line.

Probably not. Probably yes. But I think no one of us here is really wanting
to find it out so its the question that drives us. Its the question that brings
us here.
