So, why don't you use dxr3 for digital out?
Sorry if this is totally wrong, I neither don't have dxr3, nor did I follow
this thread. I was
under the impression that you can use dxr3 to output audio without outputing
video
by using  -ao oss:/dev/em8300_ma-0 -ac hwac3
