Could be, try the above line w/o the cpu optimisations (after you've
run make and it failed):

gcc -c -O4 -pipe -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer 
-D_REENTRANT -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -Ilibmpdemux -Iloader 
-Ilibvo -o mplayer.o mplayer.c

If this works please report back.
