[MPlayer-users] Counter in upper left of screen

I did read the documentation, but I can't find an answer to this -- I 
apologize if I overlooked it. When I run mplayer, it displays a counter in 
the upper left part of the picture, telling me where I am in the movie. 
It's distracting; how can I make it go away? I tried "-quiet", but 
apparently this is not one of the things that that option controls.
