Well it sounds like you've got the same issue as me.  Xawtv uses the 
same format on my system, and with mplayer the output is all blueish.

But for me, the command:
"mplayer -tv on:driver=v4l:width=640:height=480:outfmt=YUY2"
fixes the colour problem.
