with 'i tried npp too' i mean:
	mencoder g.vob -ss 00:15:40 -vop npp=lb -mc 0 -divx4opts br=2000 -o 1.avi -pass 1
and there's no deinterlace, but if i use -vop npp=0x20000 it works.

i repeat in plain english what i wrote before: i didn't find a way to pass string
option to deinterlace.

it seems you didn't read with too much attention my post (anyway i thank
you for your quick answer), i think i showed to have read the docs and that:
a) there's a little imprecision in the documentation;
b) there's a bug in mencoder

it's also true that my english is poor, so what i think then write could
result different to what they read then understand...
