[MPlayer-users] Blue Image with audio only sometimes in X11 framebuffer mode

Maybe somebody has seen this problem before?
Stock Red Hat 7.2 with X11 patches from site
Trident Cyber 9879 Video Chipset
Running in Framebuffer mode, 16 colors (max available)
MPlayer-0.90pre4
Problem is that sometimes the mplayer screen
is solid blue using xv video mode. using Xv
because it scales well in FB mode. The verified
fix seems to be restart the X server until it works.
I diffed the X logs and determined that the line:
(II) TRIDENT(0): Found Clock 65.00 n=219 m=23 k=1
Appears only in the X startup during failure mode.
BTW here is the mplayer output- identical if it "blue
screens" or not...

PS I agree xine SUX, mplayer was a breeze compared to it...
