So you have done it with something like -ao oss:/dev/em8300_ma-0 ?
You mean ac3 signal/analog audio out of the dxr3's output plugs?
It's bit confusing because you mentioned alsa9. That should have
nothing to do with it, because the em8300 driver has its own sound driver.
You could try the program dhc included with the em8300 sources to change
the card's audio output mode. If it doesn't help you could also play
around with the options in the em8300/modules/Makefile.
There is a flag -DEM8300_AUDIOMODE_DEFAULT=EM8300_AUDIOMODE_ANALOG
you could change. I haven't used my dxr3 for a while so I'm not so sure.
EM8300_AUDIOMODE_DIGITALPCM or something like that might help.
