yes, it was it.
to resume:
i am looking for a good combination of grapiccard and vo-device to
display fullscreen on tv-out.
ati with vidix:
scales the image to reach the sides of the screen and leaves aspect as
ist is but display picture topmost, no matter what i try.
tnt2 with standard framebuffer:
sometimes jerky
tnt2 with vesa:
scales every input to 4:3 fullscreen. very interresting, because it
seems to use hardware-strechting.
useless, because every aspect-ratio is killed and foreced to 4:3.
tnt2 with rivafb:
best so far, but can't manage to use hardware-stretching.
issues with tv-out: (i decided to go for the tnt2, so ati is left out
here.)
the picture sometimes lookes as if the lower half of it
would be belonging to the last frame, while the upper was already
advancing to the next. this gives ugly flashy cuts in the middle of the
picture.
i can only explain this to myself as a movie/monitor timing-problem, but
with the tnt2 my tv-out should force the fbdevice to give out 50 hz,
since its activated at boot time and has a pal tv connected, so 25fps
pal should be displayed correctly.
i wonder if these thing just go flawlessly with everybody else?
greets
/jc
