[MPlayer-users] Trying to play 1920x1088 mpeg2 program stream

A while back I was trying to play an MPEG-2 transport stream generated by
MyHD MDP-100: http://www.digitalconnection.com/Products/Video/myhd.asp

But it seems that MPlayer cannot handle transport streams yet.  So I used
mpegtools from linuxtv.org and converted the stream to a program stream.
I am now able to play the low res converted program streams but I am still
having trouble playing the really high resolution videos.

Searching the mailing list resulted in the following match :

The suggested solutions do not work.  I get a think pink bar on the right.
About 1/4th the size of the image and the error message :
"size restrictions for MP at ML or MPEG1 exceeded! (1920x1088)"
