Me too...  on a 1.6g athlon xp, wintv Bt878, 29.97 fps at 512x384,
using lavc with mpeg4 vhq and crop,scale,deinterlace, it was a while ago
but it wasn't a problem... I think it was using around 60 or 70% cpu.
