[MPlayer-users] same result in gmplayer -nofs -noquiet

You must provide the full output from the shell command so we can see
what exactly is happening when you start mplayer.  Without this
information, it's practically impossible to know what's happening -
my/our help is practically useless because the number of possible errors
is so huge at this moment that we cannot begin to help you as we could.

So, please start a shell prompt.  Run "mplayer -nofs -noquiet".  When it
fails, cut and paste the results from the shell window into an e-mail
back to us on this list. I'm expecting to see certain problems I've
encountered where I CAN help you but I can't begin to help you without
the additional information.

One thing you didn't mention after compiling is if you installed an
appropriate font set (ISO-8859-1 -- you're in Germany, right?) and the
Skins directory.  Also, you should have three files: input.conf,
mplayer.conf, codecs.conf.  You may need additional links to the
location of these files in your ~/.mplayer directory (they are found at
/etc/mplayer or /usr/local/etc/mplayer.
