[MPlayer-users] rugged play on notebook

Hoi!

I bought a new notebook (Gericom Webshox Per4mance Plus)
The whole system is based on SiS chips.

When i play video files the mplayers drops frames in order to keep the
A-V synchrinization and this makes it unusable.

I tried with several different video files from mpeg to DivX 5 and i
experienced the same.

I tried to tune the disk with hdparm, tried almost all -framedrop, -vop
pp, etc... options, without any success.

The disk is fast enough and does not spin down, there is no "noticable"
IRQ conflict.

A friend of mine experiences the same problem on his AMD Athlon XP
1800/nVidia Gef4 system (also Debian/Woody)
