Hi Paco !!!!

I don't know what fs mode is, so may be this don't answer your question,
but I've an abit siluro geforce2 mx400 working with -vo xv tvout throught
S-Video.
If I understand right, this is what you want. I don't claim this is the
best way, I think is something messing, but it works so...

the soft is:

i) the propietary driver from nvidia (version 1.0-3123)

ii) A program called nvtv from http://nv-tv-out.sourceforge.net/ (I use
version 0.4.1-pre1, I don't know if this is the last, but it works for me)

The configuration:

Obviously I've root access. I've X configure for users at 102x768 without
twinview or something else. Also in root's home (yeap, to tvout I use
the root account) I have XF86Config at 800x600 without twinview or
tv out. Apparently that's nvtv job.

That's all.

I run as root X (may be a new session with startx -- :1 if I've some
work in progress in my user X session).

Turn on the TV and run nvtv with the command line

nvtv -S NTSC -r 800,600 -s LARGE -g

(I use the ntsc parameters that the nvtv has by default, there is also
parameters for pal, but I get better output with ntsc, by the way, I never
set any option or parameter in the program ... I'm lucky that the defualts
works, I don't know how to change it)

this blow up a gui for the program, click in TV ON and I can see my
desktop in the TV, then open a xterm and run mplayer as usual

mplayer movie.avi -vo xv -vobsub subtitles -vobsubid id -fs

I hope this can help you.

Regards,

Martín
