I just modified and created a couple of scripts to encode for the 
zaurus. The trick is to use the eq option to increase brightness. I 
wrote an how-to page : http://www.zeb.uklinux.net/encoding.html
A new version of the scripts will appear soon.
Mplayer is a must for the zaurus, since it is the only player to decode 
mpeg4 smoothly (in fact, not only for the zaurus ;)
