i have a radeon with gatos but I can see many film with xv only with

I'have no ac3 avi but with an ac3 dvd I use:

mplayer -dvd 1 -channels 6

you just need to set properly /usr/local/etc/emu10k1.conf
with 4 channels and not 6

I suppose your

mplayer file-with-ac3-audio-avi -channels 4

will work if the driver is correctly set up through emu-tools.


remember you must run

/usr/local/etc/emu-script

it's usefull to run once for all in

/etc/rc.local
