Hi,
I tried the latest version of mplayer and
again WOW.
this time TV recording worked on my linux box.
Great job.
I have some questions regarding mplayer.
I know how I can record a TV now and immediately encode it.
1)
I use "at" to start the job when the movie starts.
How can I tell mencoder to stop itself after "xxx seconds" or
at "hh:mm:ss" o'clock?
this time I used a "at: killall encoder" which I think is not really
nice.
2) After recording and encoding the movie I would like to edit it.
e.g. get rid of certain frames, which contain commericals or some frames
at the beginning and at the end. how can i achieve that?
Is there a let's say sort of "sed" for mplayer,
so I can get rid of frames like sed can get rid of lines?
3)
How can I move forward and backward in the movie on a frame basis?
Right now I can press "pause" and "play" and I get a frame accuracy
like with a bad videorecorder.
4) How can I merge two movie streams?
like a unix "cat"?
5) How can set my TV-card to another station in batch,
so that mencoder finds the right channel?
6) I record something like 384x288 which I think is VHS-PAL
quality. When i tried TV-frame 768x576 (TV quality)
mencoder writes in RAW format instead of lavcodec which I dit
not understand and fills up my disk
. (my box is quite slow 500MhzPIII)
Thanks for your help and a big thanXXX for mplayer/mencoder.
The best video stuff I ever tried/saw.
