[MPlayer-users] aspect ratio

I have a problem with the aspect ratio given by mplayer for a DVD.
It is a DVD which I know it's a 2.35 one (The Mask of Zorro), but the command 
:
mplayer -ao null -vo null -dvd 1 -frames 0 -v 2>&1 | grep aspect
give me :
L'aspect du film est 1.78:1 - pré-redimensionnement à l'aspect correct.

Why ???

The command :
mplayer -ao null -vo null -dvd 1 -frames 0 -v 2>&1 | grep VIDEO
returns me :
VIDEO:  MPEG2  720x576  (aspect 3)

What does "aspect 3" means ???
