Hi,
I am sorry, I forgot to write that in my ~/.mplayer/gui.conf is a line
stopxscreensaver = "yes".

But anyway, even if there is "no", the version compiled with gui kills
xscreensaver without its restoration if it started in this way:
mplayer -stop_xscreensaver .
