[MPlayer-users] RFE: ratios, dimensions and positions in cmdline

Hi,

I wonder why using aspect ratios, dimensions and dimensions in 
mencoder's command line is so weird and inconsistent. Why not use X's 
standard notation?
One would pass aspect ratios as "1.85:1", dimensions as "720x560", 
positions as "+0+8".

Ex: "-lavcopts aspect=1.85:1 -vop scale=720x560,crop=720x560+0+8"
(don't pay attention to the bogus values).

What do you think?
