movie).
For internal archiving purposes, and preferably when making SVCD's, I
guess this is ok. Personally I think hard sub's is a big no-no.

TFM obviously must be wrong

4.8. Encoding

Q: I can't encode DVD subtitles into the AVI!

A: You have to specify the -sid option correctly!

Q: How can I put subtitles in the output file?

A: Just pass the -sub <filename> (or -sid, -vobsub, respectively) option
to MEncoder

Mencoder does not take -vobsubout. If you have the *vob's or the DVD,
then I guess -sid should work? You might (probably) have to set -slang
too.

Maybe try 'mencoder dvd://x -sid x -slang xx -oac ... -ovc ... -o
yourmovie.avi' if you have the DVD, or putting the *vob in for dvd://x
if you have the *vob's. Not that I know if this works, and I won't
bother testing it either, cuz I will never do this for myself. And I'm
too lazy to do other ppl's tests ;)
