[MPlayer-users] avifilefoo.conf sometimes works

Another 'feature' (aka bug)  ;)

Assuming you have a movie called foo.avi and a config file called
foo.avi.conf.

foo.avi.conf is only read when the avi file is included on the path.
(ie 'gmplayer foo.avi' works and the foo.avi.conf is read correctly)
However if you load gmplayer, then use the menu to open a file, the
foo.avi.conf appears not to be read at all.

Has anyone else found this?
