Hi

My goal is to rip a movie from a dvd onto 2 cds.
The first contains the video only and the second:
- the audio tracks for different languages
- subtitles for different languages
- a script for launching mplayer with the desired audio track and subtitles
- optional small bonuses included on the dvd,...

The advantage over one avi on one cd per language is that there is more space
for video on the first cd.

question:

- What is the fastest way to rip an audio track to mp3?
  For the moment I use
mplayer -dvd ... -ao pcm -vo null -vc null -framedrop -aofile out.wav
and then use lame for mp3 compression.
  Is there a faster way?

Jean-Marc
