[MPlayer-users] cannot find audio format 0x2000

i am trying to play a dvd movie which plays ok with xine,

mplayer video looks neat but i can't  hear audio,

i see a msg at the beginning  that says cannot find audio codec format
0x2000.

any hints i appreciate
