[MPlayer-users] TV grabbing problem

Hi!

I have a KWorld KW-TV878RF tuner card. When i watching tv with mplayer
the picture is almost black&white, colors are very weak. With xawtv the
picture is fine (i'm using the same channel/frequency settings). Mplayer
version doesn't matter, with earlier versions the picture is as ugly as
with 0.90rc5).

Problem 2: (not mplayer/mencoder specific):
when i'm watching the tv (with xawtv), the audio is almost clear, but
when i grab (with xawtv or mencoder, doesn't matter) the audio is _very_
noisy. Why ? (-ovc pcm, with -ovc mp3lame i get no sound...)

Problem 3:
i've tried grabbing with mencoder -tv
on:driver=v4l:width=352:height=288:freq=286.4:audiorate=22100:amode=0:buffersize=128 

-o tv.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1200 -oac pcm
I get 19 fps in this resolution, and after approx. 90 sec hard
framedropping begins. With winDVR (under win2k) i've grabbed in the same
resolution and the framerate was 25 fps without framedrop. So, mencoder
_must be_ faster than a m$ crap, what is the problem ?
(My hw: dual celeron 550MHz (abit bp6 mobo), 256M ram, Ati Rage128Pro
Ultra videocard, Debian Woody, kernel 2.4.19SMP)
