Could you try updating your binutils and compiler? binutils-2.13.2.1
and gcc-3.3 are the latest offerings. [gcc-3.3 triggers a bug in older
binutils on i386, which wouldn't affect you particularly, but it's
still a good idea to update both together.] Worth a shot.
