[MPlayer-users] problem encoding with xvid

sounds like your build of xvid could be bad, have you tried to rebuild it? are 
you sure you REALLY need to use xvid? i mean, from the quality perspective, 
what i've watched (must be more than 100 dvdrips) no other codec has matched 
the quality i get when i rip with lavc..
