They work (both vss and h264) if you install win32 dll. You have to  
install the regular x86 win32 codecs, not the PocketPC version (i don't  
know what they are, and AFAIK MPlayer does not support them).

FFmpeg have an h264 decoder (not encoder IIRC), but Vsofts variant of  
h264 is different (it was true when i added VSS binary support, i don't  
think it has changed later).
