[MPlayer-users] subtitle handling? (feature request)

can someone code up a way to display each subtitle line after hitting a key?
like say i have a badly timed subtitle file, can i hit a key to go next line, then prev line
and the subtitle stays displayed until i hit another key?

previous/next subtitle line display. additional option to remember every time you next
a subtitle, making it easy to time subs? 

mplayer is the best!
