i also have a buz, but i never was very successful in using it as a v4l
device. lavrec worked mostly fine (apart from the buz being extremely
picky about motherboard chipsets). It seems to me, the v4l interface is
not perfect in the buz driver.
TV out works fine (on the motherboards, that the buz likes... :-)

btw, i'm no expert, but it may well be, that the error has nothing to
do with the missing tuner but with signal formats.
Try different outfmt= parameters, maybe it is something like that.

BTW. you cut the output of mplayer. Dont do that, or we can not help
you. It seems at last you are using a pretty old MPlayer version, so
maybe its time to do 'cvs update' :-)
