When muxing for a dvd  dvdauthor dies when fed with ffmpeg's vob files, 
because it doesn't find the right
vob structure (or at least it died1 or 2 months ago).
You are using tcmplex, not ffmpeg's own vob muxer, so you won't have 
problems.
