[MPlayer-users] MENCODER PROBLEM: get_buffer() failed (0 -170344 0 0x41a3ca30) Segmentation fault

I have ripped "The Bourne Identity" with MEncoder 1.0pre1-3.3.1 (I use Debian 
Unstable)

mplayer -ovc copy -oac copy -aid 128 dvd://1

then extracted and mp3 encoded the italian audio track

mencoder -srate 44100 -ovc frameno -o frameno.avi -aid 128 -oac mp3lame 
-lameopts abr:br=128:q=0:aq=0:vol=8 test.avi

teh subgested video bitrate are

Recommended video bitrate for 650MB CD: 668
Recommended video bitrate for 700MB CD: 729
Recommended video bitrate for 800MB CD: 852
Recommended video bitrate for 2 x 650MB CD: 1468
Recommended video bitrate for 2 x 700MB CD: 1591
Recommended video bitrate for 2 x 800MB CD: 1837

I selected the 700MB x 1 CD (729)

then I try to encode the 1st pass

mencoder -o /dev/null -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=729:vhq:v4mv:vpass=1:keyint=50 -vop \
scale=640:272,crop=720:436:0:74,pp=0x20000 test.avi

BUT AT THE END of the process (after about 1 hour!!!!!) it abnormally end with 
the following error message!!!

How can I resolve this problem?????
