It never used to happen to me when I was using I think the 0.90 series, but 
since I upgraded to the CVS a while back it's been doing it.

Not sure - it doesn't seem to do it particularly often, but when I play mpegs 
from my DVB card it seems to happen more frequently (but this could just be 
because I load/exit mplayer more frequently then too.)

GeForce2 MX/400, nVidia 43.63, X11 4.3.0.  As I said though, it never used to 
happen with the older version of mplayer, but I may have been using an old 
version of the nVidia drivers then - so the two variables here look like the 
version of mplayer and the version of the video card drivers.
