mplayer, I do not use gmplayer.
Maybe there were bugs introduced from 1.4.0.4 -> 1.4.0.8?
When doing:
for i in *
do
mplayer $i
done
(To go through a lot of videos for instance):
It will eventually (2-3, 6-7, 9-12, videos) crash gnome-panel and do it
over and over again.
Sometimes it can crash it on the first time you launch mplayer, but this
is rare, it is normally when you run mplayer in a loop.
Any ideas?
$ ls -ld gnome-core-1.4.0.8-i386-1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 67K May 26 19:58 gnome-core-1.4.0.8-i386-1
$ app mplayer
/app/mplayer-1.0pre5

mplayer or gmplayer? mplayer works for me under gnome 1.4.0.4 and I
don't
use the GUI much.
$ rpm -qf `which panel`
gnome-core-1.4.0.4-54
$ rpm -q mplayer
mplayer-1.0pre5-2
