1.0pre4-3.3.3 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Teammp3 stream,
you can use
>mplayer -dumpaudio -dumpfile audio.mp3 R1.avi

mencoder -ovc copy -oac mp3lame R1.avi -o R1mp3.avi
gives me : MPlayer was compiled without libmp3lame
support!

I guess I should enable lame, but:

PS: I just saw that mplayer & mencoder are not the
same version, is it 
important?
