[MPlayer-users] mplayerplug-in often fails

On a debian system, I installed mplayer and
mplayerplug-in with the single command "apt-get
install urpmi-mplayer"

I've been testing by viewing movie trailers (from
imdb.com) in mozilla, and sometimes it works, but more
often it freezes while buffering (and its not
consistent)

Are there any system config files I can tweak to make
it work more often?

And is there a way to turn on debug output to give a
clue about where it freezes up?
