[MPlayer-users] Recording streaming video?

Hello,

I need to record a video stream, a real video stream.

I have a .ram file, which contains a URL that ends in an .smil file
name.

When I try mplayer with the URL I get just the smil itself.
When I try the mplayer -dumpstream and the URL mplayer dumps core.

Can I do what I'm trying to do, and if so, how?
