This is caused by the same problem as I described in
http://mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-users/2004-February/042466.html

I verified that the one-line patch described in
http://mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-users/2003-December/040344.html
when applied to the current CVS fixes your problem
(the stream plays).

Is this going to get fixed in the CVS soon?

Hi,

here's another bug report, this time more details.
MPlayer 1.0pre3 and
the current CVS have a problem with asx playlists from
http URLs,
which older versions such as 0.92 don't have.

Here's the basic bug report information:

The log file is attached. I can download the asx file
with wget and
play from the local copy, so I guess it's the wrong
content type from
the web server. Can you please double check if a file
is really an asf
and fall back to playlist parsing?
