[MPlayer-users] -vo vesa:vidix not working although xvidix does

Hi,

I've a Radeon 7500 video card, thus requiring
-vo vesa to enable TV output. I used mplayer
for quite a long time because of this feature,
among others.

Recently I had a HD crash and reinstalled most
software, including mplayer 1.0pre3-3.3.3
instead of the old 0.9 I had in place before.
Thing is, although I can get the vidix driver
to work under X perfectly (-vo xvidix), and
the plain VESA driver is just fine as well,
-vo vesa:vidix leaves me with a blank screen.

I've checked mplayer's output and nothing seems
to be out of place; according to the logs, it
correctly determines the kind of chip and the
amount of video memory, and then starts playing.

I've searched google and the list archives to
no avail. Does anybody have a clue as to what
may I be missing?

TIA,

Alon
